  • K20 Arabic Teachers Workshop: Empowering Educators of Arabic Language and Culture

    The Arabic Teachers Council of the South organized a K20 Arabic Teachers Workshop titled "Empowering Educators of Arabic Language and Culture" at Amana Academy, hosting speakers from diverse institutions who presented on various topics including project-based learning, virtual exchange, improving reading comprehension, and integrating Arabic grammar. The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of Arabic teachers in the southern U.S. states by providing professional development opportunities and fostering a community of support.

  • Truman Center Nuclear Security Workshop

    April 15, 2023

    The Truman Center hosted a two-day Nuclear Security Workshop for undergraduate students from the Metro Atlanta region to engage with experts in nuclear security. The workshop aimed to diversify the nuclear policy field and included interactive discussions and presentations on various topics. The Truman Center's efforts prioritize underrepresented communities in the nuclear policy field, including women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and they achieve their goals by organizing convenings that engage stakeholders in discussions on how nuclear security intersects with critical issues.

  • Interdisciplinary and Critical Approaches to Sustainability

    April 24, 2024, 8:30 am - 6:00 pm

    The morning session will feature panels of faculty from Georgia Tech’s College of Computing, College of Design, Insitute of People and Technology, the College of Engineering, and College of Science, all in dialogue with faculty from the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. The afternoon will focus on critical approaches to the concept of sustainability, featuring scholars from across the Institute and two keynote events: NELSON MALDONADO-TORRES: “Colonial and Decolonial Sustainabilities” and JESSICA HERNANDEZ: “Indigenous Science: From Local to Global Context”.
